I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
In May 2025 I presented to the Austin ED for worsening headaches and light headedness.
A CT angiogram and MRI found a 5cm meningioma on my right occipital lobe. I was prepped for surgery the very next day. The risks were great but doing nothing wasn't an option with the tumour already invading important structures in the brain. Trying to prepare my young family with the uncertainty of what was about to occur was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. As a theatre (scrub) nurse I was not used to being on the other side of the operating table.
Thanks to the amazing skill of the surgical team, the surgery was a success (albeit I did dump some blood and needed some ICU support).
Today I am home and building up my strength week by week. The girls still have their mum, my husband his wife, and I'm left counting my lucky stars to still be here to see it all.
Many people are not as fortunate as I was and are losing or lost their battle with Brain Cancer.
I'd like to give something back to contribute some vital funds and research into this important cause. Feel free to donate any amount big or small! Much love💕
