Hiking For Brain Cancer (AAWT)

By Matias Edmonds

I've created this page because I want to make a difference.

Later this year, I’ll be taking on a challenge that is both physically demanding and deeply personal -walking over 400 km of the Australian Alps Walking Track across roughly 20 to 25 days to raise money for brain cancer research.

This cause means a great deal to me personally, as I lost my grandfather to brain cancer a few years ago. While I know this journey will push me physically and mentally, having a purpose behind every kilometre makes it something I’m incredibly motivated to take on.

My main goal is to raise $5,000 for brain cancer research through donations .

Before I set off, I’m also looking for $300 in support to help cover the costs of the trip itself, including the equipment, food, supplies and other essentials needed to complete a 400+ km journey. This support will help me take on the challenge safely and successfully.

Any funds or support that I don’t end up needing for the walk itself will go directly towards the fundraising effort and ultimately to this important cause.

Over 400 km. 20–25 days. $300 to help get me on the trail. $5,000 to help fight brain cancer.

Whether you’re able to contribute financially, or simply share my fundraising page with others, every bit of support would mean a lot to me.

Thank you for supporting me, remembering those we’ve lost, and helping me turn this challenge into something that can make a real difference. ❤️
