Hi everyone,
My name is Loryn! This year in July, I am running in the Gold Coast Marathon (something I NEVER thought I’d do) with my dad and my younger sister.
I did a fund raiser for the 2024 City2Surf raising nearly $15,000 and have decided to fund raise again for the Cure Brains Cancer Foundation. My mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer in May 2024, followed by surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She had a recurrence in October 2025, followed by another surgery and continuous chemotherapy treatment.
Brain cancer is something that impacts everyone in different ways - whether you are the person diagnosed, or someone close to you has been diagnosed. I’ve seen my mum continue to live her life to the fullest and I feel great pride and accomplishment knowing that what I’m able to fund raise will help not only her, but the thousands of other people impacted by this cancer by improving current treatments, developing new ones, and enhancing the research facilities we have.
I’ve set a goal to fund raise $1000. I appreciate any and all donations, as I’ve been able to see where my funds are going to improve people’s lives and hopefully one day find a permanent cure for this cancer 🫶💜 Thank you all.
