My Birthday Mission: Honouring lola by Fighting Brain Cancer

By Janelle Dela Cruz

I've created this page because I want to make a difference.

This year my birthday is a little different.

On the 26th of December 2025, I lost my beloved grandma to brain cancer. She meant so much to me and my family. Recently, our church community also lost a very special member Oliver to the same disease. Experiencing these losses so close together has been incredibly difficult, and it has shown me just how devastating brain cancer can be for families and communities.

In honour of my grandma, Oliver and in memory of those we’ve lost, I’ve decided to spend my birthday doing something meaningful. I will be taking part in the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation to raise money for brain cancer research.

I’m asking for donations to support research that can help improve treatments, bring hope to families, and one day find a cure. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference.

This walk is my way of remembering the people we love and turning grief into something positive that could help others in the future.

Thank you so much for your support, prayers, and encouragement. It truly means the world to me. 💜
