I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
On the 30th of January 2017, Danielle had a fall. She was taken to hospital for a precautionary CT scan to make sure everything was okay. The doctors told her nothing was broken, but they found something no one was expecting.
An 11mm brain tumour.
Danielle was just 30 years old.
At an age where life is busy with raising kids, building a future, and making memories, she was suddenly told she had a tumour in her brain. It was inoperable due to its location. The advice at the time was to monitor it with yearly scans and leave it alone.
For six years it remained dormant. She lived her life. She raised her three beautiful children. She carried on as Danielle does strong, loving, present.
Then, over the past two years, things started to change. The tumour began to grow.
They decided on a second opinion hoping for a different answer. But the response was the same it was too dangerous to operate. She was advised to stay under the care of the specialists at Charlie’s, home to some of the best neurosurgeons.
With medical research advancing, there was hope that new options might be emerging.
At the end of October 2025, Danielle had another scan. While waiting for those results, our workplace was rocked in November when Danielle suffered her first seizure. It was a devastating day watching our beautiful friend go through something so frightening.
She was admitted to hospital and started on seizure medication.
Soon after, she received the results of her October scan. The tumour had grown to 18mm.
The only option now was to proceed with a biopsy. It was a dangerous surgery, and she was given two weeks to decide. After careful thought, Danielle chose to go ahead. Her life had already changed after that first seizure she could no longer drive, yet she still had three kids who needed their mum, activities to get to, a life that didn’t pause.
On the 30th of January, she underwent surgery a biopsy through a burr hole about the size of a 20-cent piece. She returned home and was largely couch-bound, recovering. Her incredible mum has been by her side every step of the way.
Then on the 3rd of February, thinking she was well enough, Danielle’s mum quickly popped to the shops. Danielle was excited to finally wash her hair. But just before she stepped into the shower, the right side of her body began to go numb. She knew another seizure was coming.
She managed to get Suri to call her mum. She couldn’t speak, but her mum knew exactly what was happening. An ambulance was called, and Danielle was rushed back to hospital, where she stayed for four days.
Now, we wait.
We wait for biopsy results.
We wait to see what this next chapter looks like.
We wait with hope, fear, and love all wrapped into one.
Danielle is not just a patient. She is a devoted mum of three. She was only 30 when this journey began. She is a friend. She is strong beyond words. And she deserves every bit of support we can give her.
In April, I will be running 100 miles for Danielle.
I am running 100 miles in her honour not because I can fix what she is going through, but because I can turn my legs into a voice for her fight.
Every mile is for her strength.
Every step is for her kids.
Every donation is a reminder that she is not alone.
Brain cancer doesn’t just affect one person it affects an entire family. And no family should have to face this alone.
Thank you for standing with Danielle and her family during the hardest chapter of their lives 🤍

UPDATE
Tuesday 24th Feb
In the middle of February, Danielle received the results from her scan.
The tumour has tripled in size.
There’s no gentle way to write that. It’s confronting. It’s heavy. It makes everything feel very real.
The plan now moves forward quickly.
Danielle will begin radiation on March 16, five days a week. After radiation, she will start chemotherapy. Treatment is no longer something in the distance.
We are still waiting on the final biopsy results, which will give clearer answers about exactly what she is facing and how best to fight it.
Right now, it feels like everything is moving fast, while at the same she is still waiting for clarity.
Danielle is stepping into treatment with the same quiet strength she’s shown from the beginning as a mum, as a daughter, as a friend.
Things are getting real. But so is the support around her.
